SYLLABUS

Students are required to obtain a folder or a notebook (unless otherwise specified) for this class. Students MUST TAKE NOTES unless otherwise advised by the teacher. The notebook should be kept in the classroom; no excuses will be accepted for lost or stolen notebooks.

Students are expected to bring all needed materials to class. Absolutely no locker trips.

CLASS RULE

Students are not allowed to hurt themselves, anybody else or any object.

Therefore:

No class disruptions will be tolerated.

First offense: warning.

Second offense: detention or referral, whichever is necessary.

Tardy policy

A student is tardy if s/he is not in his/her assigned seat when the tardy bell rings. Running from the door towards the assigned seat will not be tolerated, since that is potentially dangerous to the student and/or the class. A student is therefore expected to enter the class on time and be ready to commence work at the class start time.

A detention will be assigned on the fourth tardy. Students are responsible for keeping track of their tardies and for timely serving of detentions. Failure to serve a detention will result in a double detention, and the next step is a discipline referral.

A tardy referral will be given on the fifth and every subsequent tardy.

Bathroom Passes

Students are responsible for taking care of their bathroom needs during the breaks between their classes. Being late due to the visit to the bathroom will not be excused. Bathroom passes will ONLY be given in extreme emergencies. Please be ready to provide doctor's note if you have a medical problem.

Participation Grade

Every student is awarded 100 points at the beginning of the course. 5 points will be taken off each time when the student:

Code of Honor

Do not lie. Ever. Don't even joke about it. You will not only be punished, but will also seriously jeopardize the relationship between you and the instructor. Lying about your absences, reasons for tardies, tests, or bathroom emergencies, is taken seriously.

I have read the classroom rules and program requirements, and I both understand and agree to follow them.
